Dental Surgeries

Sandown Dental & Implant Clinic

33-35 Sandown Rd, Belfast BT5 6GT, UK – 028 9047 1070

Professional and friendly advice, guidance and treatment. Brilliant dental practice that I am happy to recommend.

I have found the Sandown Dental and Implant Clinic to extremely patient focused with all efforts being made to accommodate the needs of the patient and the customer care is exemplary. The staff are all of the highest quality and even though I had a lot of work to be done, having not been to a dentist in 17 years, I found the experience to be as painless as was humanly possible, with the work itself being exceptional. As I mentioned, I had not visited a dentist in a number of years due to an unhappy experience before, but this is not something I need to worry about at the Sandown clinic, and I have happily joined the Practice Plan and now make regular visits.

Bupa Dental Care Belmont Road, Belfast

115 Belmont Rd, Belfast BT4 2AD, UK – 028 9047 1503

Last week at lunch time Saturday I had a front tooth break, first thing Monday morning I went to Dental Excellence and was given an emergency appointment for 10.30am that day, I was delighted that they would do something for me at such short notice. I saw one of the other dentists that morning and they were able to fit a temporary crown, it was excellent work, I have only been with the practice for four months and I am very happy that I registered with them. Based on all my experience so far I can only give the highest recommendation as a very satisfied patient.

I have been going to Dental Excellence (formally McCombs) for the majority of my 27 years. Mrs Haley has been my dentist and she is amazing. Every time I go away feeling good about my teeth! She is an excellent dentist and sees my mum, sister and brother too. I think it is unusual to actually enjoy going to the dentists, but I can honestly say that I do!

Man & Van Belfast

Grove St E, Belfast BT5 5GG, UK – 07763 653563

Really professional service, arrived early and worked non stop. James and team really pleasant to deal with and took the hassle out of the moving process. Really helpful and worked to reasonable rates, no hesitation in recommending or using again.

We needed some items moved from house to house and I didn't know who to ask. Contacted these guys due to favourable reviews and very glad I did. 5 Stars well earned - arrived at pickup dead on time and delivery was perfect. Jamie and his colleague were a pleasure to deal with and we will hire again. Very highly recommended!!

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Belfast

Olivers Restaurant

405 Upper Newtownards Rd, Belfast BT4 3LH, UK – 028 9067 1105

Fantastic place for eating out! Great food with a menu to suit everyone. The service is second to none, these guys will make sure you are well looked after, as well as entertained! Highly recommended.

Following a "day after the night before" fry up on Sat, we decided to go with something a bit more upmarket and went on the hunt for an avocado kind of place. We took a gamble on Oliver's as it looked pleasant enough from the outside and our gamble definitely paid off. The staff were friendly and attentive - even taking the time to make some chat - and made the whole place feel very homely. My partner had the porridge and, unfortunately, a severe case of food envy as she watched me eat my brunch. I had a difficult choice to make as most things on the menu sounded amazing. Duck hash, Brisket waffle benedict, baked egg & chorizo, kedgeree..... everything on this menu was making me drool. I decided to go for the poached eggs, avocado, black pudding and bacon as eggs benedict with black pudding is one of my favourites. Obviously i wasn't disappointed. The only downside to Oliver's is that now I am back home in Scotland it's 200 miles away

Bistro este

221 Upper Newtownards Rd, Belfast BT4 3JD, UK – 028 9065 6976

Amazing dinner. Lamb was beautifully cooked and a decent portion. The wife had the venison and was equally impressed. With some tasty starters as well we walked away very satisfied. The staff were friendly and attentive. The only drawback is that it is a bit pricey and so we would not be visiting on regular occasions. Definitely worthwhile for the odd treat.

The best restaurant in East Belfast! Diane is amazing! Such great service! We have been 3 times now and never been disappointed. This is fine dining at its best but it’s pretty reasonable. My mum, partner and I went on New Years Eve and had a supervisor dining experience. The food was A* and they were very accommodating for dietary requirements. The Chilli Beef starter is to die for! Would love it for a main. Thanks to Diane and the team! They made our New Years with a lovely glass of Champagne 🥂🍾

Wagamama Eastpoint

9, Eastpoint Entertainment Village, Kings Rd, Belfast BT16 1XT, UK – 028 9048 3407

My girlfriend and I are regulars and loyal customers here. We come for lunch at least 1 a week because we love the food so much! Everything is cooked fresh and tastes amazing! There are plenty of different styles of asian cuisine to cater to all appetites, but I can assure you that everything is delicious 😁 The staff are so friendly and polite, we really enjoy chatting with them on visits and they always check with us that we are enjoying everything. We're here so frequently that they know our orders but always check incase we want to try something adventurous! Couldn't recommend this place more! The atmosphere of the restaurant is fun, the food is top quality, we love the staff and its perfect if you want to get something to eat before going to the cinema. The menu is also not particularly expensive and they are constantly updating it with new dishes that we cant wait to try. I would rate this establishment 10 stars if I could!

Food was very good. Was expecting it to.be like the other round the area but it's fresh food. Not fried

Nursery and Preschools

Ravenscroft Nursery School

Ravenscroft Ave, Belfast BT5 5BA, UK – 028 9047 1684

Both sons attended Ravenscroft and took their first steps into education, social ability and guided fun. Whilst five years apart, the ambience of the nursery remained. The fears of every parent are soon dispelled as reassurance for the children and parents is highly promoted. The urge to hide behind 'mummmy' soon is diminished as welcoming staff relax all and with bright surroundings, toys a plenty and freedom to roam and learn, at this point parents reminisce about youth and realise that memories are created within the walls of the nursery. Staff accept all children and acknowledge that they are individual with a unique personality which is allowed to develop, correctly and not according to the beliefs of an out-dated manual. Everything is right, the interior, the exterior, the location and most importantly the attitude. Memories are made and my two boys are strong, mannered and free-thinking, thanks to the excellent staff of Ravenscroft and magic their formula. Thank you Ravenscroft 😁

Our son was pupil there. Nice and clean place.

Strathearn School

188 Belmont Rd, Belfast BT4 2AU, UK – 028 9047 1595

I’m a 3rd year at Strathearn: lovely teachers, good food, beautiful school building. However, with no winter exams, there is a lot riding on the Summer ones and tests throughout the year. The school (or at least my year) has a very high average score and in 2017 came 4th in all of NI and 39th in the UK for GCSE scores.

My Daughters thoroughly enjoy coming to this school. They find it engaging and fun, with pleasant staff and good facilities.

Orangefield Primary School

Bloomfield Collegiate School

Astoria Gardens, Belfast BT5 6HW, UK – 028 9047 1214

I think this school is perfect. The buildings and the facilities are at a good standard. The school is regularly cleaned and it have very good technology for those who are interested in taking a career in it. The work is challenging but levelled to your abilities and there are many career choices for young girls to make the most of their future. The school fees are at a good price and go to good uses around the school. I won't want to be at any other school and i recommend all girls to make the most to get in here!

Absolutely loved my time at this school, I met my lifelong friends here and all of the teachers are so caring and really care about how their pupils do education wise but also how they develop into good citizens.
