Cinemas around Belfast

Strand Arts Centre

Took my 10 year old daughter to the showing of SING followed by a musical workshop..... fantastic value. Daughter cannot wait to go back to another event. Definitely a hidden gem, while there took some time to look at their program.. some really good things organised, so I will be back. Amazing what is on your doorstep.

Five stars for keeping this old classic cinema going when most people will be streaming or going to the big multiplex. Beautiful art deco building. Watching a movie here brings back great memories of when cinemas had a proper red velvet curtain and a human projectionist. The screens aren't the biggest you'll ever see but it's the perfect setting for an old classic movie or something low key that doesn't require an imax to enhance the viewing. Cinephiles should check out their events guide as there is so much interesting stuff and you may finally get a chance to see that old movie on the big screen or one of your favourite childhood kids movies again in a Saturday matinee.

Omniplex Cinema Dundonald

East Point Entertainment Village, Old Dundonald Rd, Dundonald, Belfast BT16 1XT, UK – 028 9048 2701

The place is nice and staff are friendly, even though we went on the cheaper night the food cost so much it made up for what we saved. (Two small drinks, a small pot of nuts and a small plate of nachos = £12) While in the screen showing pitch perfect we could hear whatever action film was playing in the screen beside throughout the whole movie. Other than that we had a good time. Great facilities in the surrounding area to enjoy also.

It is still a fairly new complex, and the "Maxx" side only two years old. So it's clean, and kept clean. The facilities like toilets are good, and not an afterthought. The food options are exactly what you expect. Outside are a number of restaurants, so the opportunity is there for a full night out. Parking is free, and usually there is no problem getting a space. Only downside is the lack of dinner and movie deals

Odyssey Cinemas

2 Queens Quay, Belfast BT3 9QQ, UK – 028 9073 9134

Went to see Black Panther when it came out, was a nice enough cinema. Tidy and clean which is great and the staff were friendly. Comfy seats at a good price. I'll return for sure.

One of the few cinemas I am willing to pay for VIP seating. Tickets are reasonable when you get free parking, pop corn, coffee and sofa chairs all in the price. Love it!
